What is Advertising?

Advertising is a campaign promoting a product or idea which can persuade or interest a target audience to purchase or use products and services. The campaign may use many different forms of media to promote a message for a set amount of time.

Evian campaign
This campaign includes baby dollar skating around a park The slogan is "live young" this is referring to older people around 25-35 and giving them memories from when they were children. Also the fact they use babies to attract tis target market as around this age they may want babies so it will attract them in more as they will think its cute. However even though i feel they aim to attract 25-35 year olds they also attract children by making this funny advert with babies rollar skating. This is to encourage healthy living as water is good for your body and you should have at least 8 cups a day.

IRN-BRUthe snowman campaign
IRN-BRU used the film the snowman to advertise their drink. It includes the boy flying with the snowman refusing to share his drink with the snowman so the snowman continuously shows him amazing scenes and the boy keeps on refusing. In the end the snowman drops the boy and drinks his IRN-BRU. This advert was popular as it used a classic film people loved and merged it with their brand. It also received a sequel in 2018 meaning people wanted more from it. This was targeted at 16-20 year olds as at 16 is when you can buy energy drinks such as these but also accused humour to make people laugh the brand and then go to buy the drink to see why the snowman wanted it so much.

Red bull gives you wings

This campaign Told people that if they drink their energy drink it would give them wings to fly and in this advert it shows people drinking red-bull and immediately growing wings and flying. This can be misleading and people have sued red bull for making them believe they could fly. However it gives red bull a view of being angelic related to the wings/ Taking the edge off of a stressful day.
