ASA ensure that adverts are not misleading, harmful, offensive, irresponsible. ASA respond to adverts by doing their own research into it and seeing for themselves if it should be banned. An example of misleading is Red bull gives you wings ( it doesn't) Ppt 1 harmful ads from amberjadebernard I think this is a harmful advert because the children are underage smoking. Because they are not the legal age to smoke this may encourage other children to steal their family members cigarettes and trying it for themselves. Therefore promoting an unhealthy lifestyle. I feel that this advert by Levis was banned on the terms of being harmful. These three teenagers are are setting off fireworks/ flares in their hands which could lead to severe burns and in an extreme case death.
